The Summer school is an intensive training course covering the advanced topics of measurement science in chemistry. The teaching methods range from lectures to case studies, examples and role playing.
Students get follow-up assignment and their learnng is evaluated. After successfully completing all the assigments, 30 ECTS points can be assigned.
Summer Schools are attended by participants from the member universities. A limited number of places are also made available to participants from other universities.
The minimum requirement is to have a bachelor degree in chemistry.
It is a master's degree program jointly delivered by a consortium of 9 universities. It is founded upon a bachelor degree in natural sciences or engineering. It offers a broad education in the field of basics of measurement science in chemistry (analytical chemistry). The academic quality of the program has been recognized by the Chemistry Euromaster quality label.
The mission of the MSC consortium is to contribute to radical improvement of the education level of analytical chemistry by being the best international provider of measurement science education in chemistry.
Detailed description of the organization of the consortium
For studying in this program, a student has to enroll into one of the universities of the consortium. At every university teaching is based on a local program of core content matching the MSC generic description (available from here) but is offered somewhat differently, corresponding to local situation. Detailed admission and studies information is available from the Admission and Studies section.
The program has evolved from the TrainMiC® training programme that was initiated and is mentored by the EC JRC IRMM.
